Here are a few suggestions to help you sell your RV. Remember, you get one chance at a first impression and so put yourself
in a buyers shoes. Sometimes small things can be a major objections when a potential buys sees your RV for the first time.
1) Site Location
Try to find a location free of obstructions such as trees, overhead wires, telephone poles etc. An empty parking
lot is usually a great location because the RV can be directed at the best sunlight for exterior shots. I prefer morning and
afternoon shoots for this reason. You want a potential buyer to not be distracted by objects around what you want him
to focus on...your RV.
2) Clean the RV
Clean the inside and outside of the RV thoroughly! Remember, it's going to be open house and hundreds and perhaps thousands of
people are going to view your unit online with a discriminating eye. You'll want to have it looking sharp not only
for the shoot, but to show in person. If you have had pets in the RV or you are a smoker, there may be offensive
odors present that may be a sure-fire deal-killer if a buyer views your unit in person. Our advise is to go to a
cleaning supply house and seek their advise on chemicals that can neutralize most of these unpleasant odors. Try to have the
carpets clean and spills and stains removed if possible....steam cleaning is a great idea. Dirty carpets will show in your
online photos!
3) Depersonalize your RV
One thing that can be a turn-off for a potential buyer is the previous owner's personal effects. Knick knacks on
the walls, hat racks, sports memorbilia, stickers on the refrigerator, team clocks ect. can all be big turn-offs. Once all
the items have been removed, staging (props) may be a good idea. For a fee, we will stage your RV in a neutral manner
or if you prefer, stage it youself and pretend you are looking at your RV for the first time. The object here is to
show potential. Simple place settings on the table or flowers are nice and a clean folded towel hanging on the shower
towel rack is a nice touch. Books and magazines placed in just the right area can be dramatic and there are other ideas
we use to make the RV seem like a home, and draw the buyer to your RV.
